My approach
My approach to therapy
Parts of ourselves are unconscious or dissociated — yet they shape and impact our thoughts, feelings, actions, and relationships. Working together over time can help bring some of these (un)known aspects into clearer, more accessible awareness, giving you more choice and control in how you live and relate.
Because I’ve trained in multiple theories — drawn mostly from psychoanalysis and traumatology — I draw on different frameworks to understand what you’re experiencing and how we can work together. No single approach fits everyone, so being flexible gives us the best chance to help you get the most from our work together.
My role is to help you explore, discover, and express your feelings, thoughts, and experiences. Sometimes this may include complex and uncomfortable fears, desires, and questions — but I will provide an open, nonjudgmental, and curious space in which to accompany you through this process.
While we identify patterns and themes in your personal and relational past, we’ll focus on the present and identify ways you can make sustainable changes going forward.
I believe change best comes from the meeting of two (or more) minds — and the most useful discoveries about yourself occur in this context; together we’ll figure out what will work best for you.
